Marcel Marchand

Marcel is a flood risk and coastal management specialist with extensive experience in river, coastal, and delta systems. He holds an MSc in Ecology and a PhD in flood vulnerability modeling. After a long career at Deltares in the Netherlands, he now works as an independent team leader and advisor on projects funded by major donors such as the World Bank and ADB. His work focuses on vulnerability assessments, early warning systems, and capacity building across Europe, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Marcel currently serves as ICEM team leader for the ADB-funded Scoping Study on Climate Resilience Measures in Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam.
