ICEM aims to advance innovative, transformational strategies that are nature-positive, enhance the resilience of ecosystems and communities, and deliver substantial adaptation and mitigation benefits.
ICEM seeks to increase carbon sequestration through improved management of vegetation, soils, and oceans, achieving dual benefits of enhancing carbon sinks while fostering biodiversity.
ICEM supports projects that help to halt and reverse declines in biodiversity including the negative effects of land-use change, over-harvesting and extraction, pests and disease, and promotes strategies for climate change adaptation and resilience, and that combat the introduction of invasive species, particularly in vulnerable ecosystems and because of climate change.
ICEM works to enhance and build resilience in livelihoods and infrastructure assets by supporting projects which achieve gains in ecosystem services provided by nature-based solutions and improve the wellbeing of communities and the ecological sustainability of economic sector programs and projects.
