ICEM is an international organization headquartered in Vietnam, with offices across the Asia-Pacific region. We manage programs and projects that promote nature-positive livelihoods and economies—ensuring that every unit of development leads to measurable gains in natural systems and the services they provide.

We apply innovative science, practical field approaches, and financial solutions to build climate resilience and conserve biodiversity. Our work is grounded in an ecosystem-based approach that promotes the wise use of shared rivers, water resources, and forests, while advancing renewable energy.

Our mission is to support local and regional development that reduces poverty and ensures the efficient, equitable, and ecologically sustainable management of natural resources. We achieve this in close partnership with local communities, governments, and international organizations.

Technical Services

CLIMATE CHANGE

ICEM is a recognized international leader in climate change impact assessment, as well as adaptation and mitigation planning. We support governments and partners in building climate-resilient communities and ecosystems across Asia and the Pacific.

ENERGY TRANSITION

ICEM helps countries in the Asia-Pacific region expand access to clean energy, adopt low-carbon technologies, and scale up renewable energy solutions that support both economic development and environmental sustainability.

WATER

For over 20 years, ICEM has worked on water resource management across Asia and the Pacific. Our projects focus on watershed management, and the survey, conservation, and restoration of freshwater and marine ecosystems.

DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

ICEM supports all aspects of disaster risk reduction—using multi-hazard risk modeling and vulnerability assessments to understand risk, and strengthening governance systems to manage and reduce it effectively.

URBAN RESILIENCE

ICEM partners with cities across Asia to carry out integrated, forward-looking urban resilience assessments. We prepare investment-ready projects and initiatives that address climate risks, infrastructure challenges, and social vulnerability.

BIODIVERSITY

With over two decades of experience, ICEM has led major programs in biodiversity conservation and protected area management. We work at the landscape and ecoregion level to protect and restore biodiversity and the services it provides.

ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS

ICEM integrates economic analysis into environmental decision-making to promote sustainable development. This approach evaluates the economic value of natural resources and ecosystem services, helping to shape policies that balance environmental conservation with economic growth.
